...and the Tooth is Gone

Chloe came home from school today with one less tooth!  It's a different smile but still beautiful. I snapped a few quick photos when she got off the bus -- she was a bit hot and sweaty but we had to capture the moment.

Some might be under the assumption that as a professional photographer it must be easy to capture fabulous images of my own child. I've got a great camera, terrific lenses and a beautiful subject, right? Hmm, think again.  Taking photos of Chloe, my five and a half year old, can sometimes be a dubious undertaking.  At times I have wanted to pull my own hair out while trying to get the perfect beach shot or Christmas card photo because everything I ask her to do she quite simply does the opposite!  Tho, that being said,  I think challenging sessions with my child help better prepare me for other clients with 'spirited' children.  All this experience makes me a better photographer. Today's mini session with Chloe marks a significant milestone - the last photo shoot with all her baby teeth intact.  I can barely believe it myself but Chloe will loose her first tooth any moment now.   

So this blog post is dedicated to all those mom's out there whose little girls like mine are growing up so quickly.   Cherish these moments and enjoy every second.
